Sources for Writing Class

Hey class,

For the upcoming Writing Class, please decide on a nonfiction topic which coordinates with your regular course of studies and bring to class no less than 3 sources for that topic. It should be a topic that you're currently studying or have recently finished studying.

Good sources might include any textbooks (science, history for example) you have that include that subject, National Geographic magazines, biographies, nonfiction library books, encyclopedias, reputable sources from the internet. Warning: Don't research on the internet without your parent there with you. It can be dangerous! Also, just because you find something on the internet doesn't mean that it's true so make sure your parent tells you that it is a reputable source. If you have questions about its truthfulness, assume that it's not true and look for a better source!

Commit to your topic by the end of Monday, Feb.8. If you have trouble finding sources by the end of Tuesday, Feb. 9, please check with either Mrs. Melanie or Mrs. Carlene for help so that you can be prepared for class.

If you have any questions about this, contact one of us immediately.

We look forward to seeing you in class.
