Toy Swap- Dec. 10

Wow! I was so impressed with the public speaking yesterday. I think our kids have really become more confident in front of an audience. What a wonderful thing for them to learn and practice doing for whatever their futures hold. I coudl not have done what they did when I was their age. I remember in 6th grade having to give a book report and standing in front of the class not able to speak at all. I even ran out of the room. No child ran from this experience yesterday- Hooray! Also, they worked on being good listeners with all the commotion that little ones bring to the table. Some even ended up presenting while holding one of those little commotions. Anyway, I just wanted to tell everyone how proud I was of them and how much I truly enjoyed getting to hear the things that everyone is learning about. Thanks for sharing!

Now to the toy swap... Beth Coppage came up with the best idea. She suggested that we might all want to go home and help the kids start to weed out some of their toys before the holidays. Then bag those toys (in a dark bag so that the kids cannot see the contents) and bring them to the gym. We could all "shop" through our bags and find some new toys for us to bring home for Christmas gifts. I hope I explained it alight. All you would need to do is bring a garbage bag with you. If you do not have anything to bring, please still feel free to "shop" as the items that are left will be brought to Christian Missions or somewhere like that afterwards. Hopefully that explains it all. If I missed something, I will get Beth to tell me what else to post. See you soon!
