Plans for co-op

We would like all homeschool families to feel welcome and beable to participate comfortably. So, we will need parents to stay for the duration to be able to help in the classes. We will be having a P.E. class that will mainly be directed by Troy University students and their professor. We will need to be available to help assist and to help with the younger children. This class will run from 9-9:45.

After P.E., we will divide the students into more age appropriate classes so their needs will be met. We will have a second classs from 9:50-10:35 and a third class from 10:40-11:25. One class will be written expression, the second will be science and the third will be a preschool class. We will need some adults to go into each class to help. I truly believe that we all bring something to the table and will be able to offer their assistance in any of these classes at some point. The written expression class will follow The Instittute for Excellence in Writing curriculum. Students will be required to work on their writing assignments before the class meets again (AT HOME). The science class will be set up more by units of study (universe, human body, etc.) We will also need help with the preschool. We can break their time into snack after P.E., arts and crafts, storytime, and playtime activities, etc.. I need an idea of which families would like to participate in these classes and names and ages so that the plans can continue to be made. Please respond by Dec. 6 so we can talk to the university before they go home for the Christmas break. If you feel more comfortable working in a certain area, let us know.

We realize that we all have a lot of responsibilities already, but what a great opportunity for our children to participate and for us teachers/moms/grandmothers to work together. Please know that we want people to commit to this learning experience; however, it is totally understandable if every week does not work.

I look forward to seeing what our wonderful children can do. Thanks!

Which day of the week? How much does this cost?

It will be Wednesday mornings from 9-11:25. There is no cost for the classes besides any materials that the students will need (notebook, etc.). The supplies for the arts and crafts for the preschool will have to be provided. Once we know how many students we are working with, we can give a better idea of how much that will be. I do not see a big expense in any of the projects though.

The Coppage family would like to take part in the classes. Ages are 11, 5,3. I will help where ever I am needed.
